History
'A Man without history is like a tree without roots.' - Marcus Garvey
Welcome to History at Cromwell Community College. This is an exciting time for
the history department, and the school in general. In September 2006 we launched
History at A2 level on the back of a very successful first year for the
subject at AS level as part of the new Sixth-Form. Moreover, in May 2006 the
Humanities faculty (of which History is part) was relocated to a modern,
specially-designed complex with facilities and technological support that is
cutting-edge. There are now seven brand new classrooms for our
students, with interactive 'smart' boards and ICT provision exclusive to the new
building. This exciting development comes in the midst of Cromwell College's bid
for Specialist Status in Humanities with English. The leadership provided
by the Humanities faculty - and History's role within that - will see the
department go from strength to strength in 2006 and beyond.

industry before entering the teaching profession and firmly believes that visits
