We work with the feeder schools to understand ability levels of incoming pupils
and for years 7 through 9 we use the Impact Maths scheme which is split over
three levels.
Green: Designed for pupils who find the
subject most difficult, this works though the curriculum slowly and carefully,
ensuring that a satisfactory knowledge of Number, Algebra, Shape and Space, and
Data handling are learned.
Blue: Designed for students that can grasp
the subject, but may require a little help. This works through the material at a
slightly faster pace, aiming for a greater understanding and so higher final
results.
Red: Designed for students that are hard
working, are high achievers, who are aiming for top grade. This works through
the topics quickly and efficiently covering all the material necessary to gain
top results.
Extension Work
We have introduced the very skilled onto their GCSE course early allowing them
to progress more quickly.
