Welcome to the “Building Schools for the Future” (BSF) section of the College website.



The past four years of planning and preparation has now produced building projects that will give the pupils, present and future, an environment ready to prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century and the community with much needed leisure facilities.

Despite the cutbacks to the original BSF budget, but with the support of Chatteris Town Council, Fenland District Council , the Football Association and the LA there will be close to £12m spent on the College site.

As I write the first phase of the project is just about to be completed. The new all-weather pitch with its 3G rubber crumb surface and changing rooms will be ready for the new season. The second phase of work will see the building of a new suite of rooms for Technology, ICT and a new Sports Hall. There will also be a fitness suite and dance studio, funded entirely by the Town and District Councils for community use, completed at the same time. If all goes according to plan that will be August 2012.

At this point we will move pupils into the new buildings and begin work on the side of the original building and Old Sports Hall – which will give us a fantastic new dining and Sixth Form facility. In addition the building of two new Science labs will begin sometime in late 2012 or early 2013. By September 2013 we will have a fantastic, new improved environment for learning across the whole curriculum and leisure for the whole community.
