Prince’s Trust – XL Level 1 Award/Certificate in Personal Development and Team Skills
The XL programme provides young people with the space and attention they need to learn skills and confidence as well as to form
a sense of ownership over their work and own development. It aims to re-engage young people in education by ensuring learning becomes
accessible, valid, relevant and attractive.
There are five main activity areas which are:
- Personal, Interpersonal and Team Skills
- Active Citizenship
- Entrepreneurship and Enterprise
- Preparation for Work
- Enrichment Projects
How Does It Help Young People?
Young people can:
- Re-engage with learning and improve their chances of completing compulsory education
- Increase confidence and self-esteem
- Improve attendance and motivation
- Improve social skills and behaviour
- Investigate potential and recognise achievement through accredited qualifications

How well do we do at Cromwell?
We had 100% success rate this year with all our year 11s achieving the Level 1 certificate in
Personal Development and Team Skills and all our year 10s achieving the Level 1 Award in Personal
Development and Team Skills.
