Ofsted Report

As you know OFSTED carried out a 'new style' inspection of the college on the 2nd and 3rd of November. The full report is available on the website and we are extremely pleased with what they have to say about us .All the judgements reached are now graded on a four point scale:

1 - Outstanding
2 - Good
3 - Satisfactory
4 - Inadequate

Below is just a flavour of the report:

"There has been good progress on most of the issues identified at the last inspection and there is good capacity for the college to improve further".

"The pupil's behaviour is good and they are polite and courteous in lessons and around the college".

"Care and support is good and pupils feel safe".

"Most pupils make good progress. Achievement and standards at Key Stage 3 are above the national average. However, although the performance at GCSE has recently improved, it remains below the national average".

"The college is developing consultation with the pupils and they feel that their views are taken seriously".

"Planning for the new post 16 provision is good. Financial management is good and value for money is satisfactory".

The inspection findings will not make us in any way complacent. We know we have work to do in order to bring our GCSE results up to and then above the national average. We want all of our pupils and students to achieve everything they are capable of.
