ICT
Aim
We aim to provide pupils with ICT skills and capabilities necessary to use and
develop, together with the confidence to become self-reliant, independent
learners throughout their lives.
Introduction
At Cromwell Community College, ICT is used extensively throughout the whole
curriculum, with every subject area using ICT regularly in lessons to support
learning. ICT enables pupils to
|
• access on-line learning materials
• undertake Internet research and communicate via email
• use findings appropriately
• handle data
• control devices
• evaluate and improve work
|
 |
It is also used to present findings, either for homework, class work or
coursework, in a variety of media. This could be something as simple as a Word
document print out, through to a multi-media presentation in PowerPoint or a
website they have built. Pupils learn to communicate with their intended
audiences using correct levels of language and by choosing the best media for
the purpose.
