Physical Education (PE)
Physical Education is an excellent and rewarding subject for those students who
have sporting interests and who may be considering careers in the following
areas - Sports Science/Research, Physiotherapy, Teaching, Leisure/Recreation
Management, and Coaching. Those who do not wish to pursue a sporting career will
find the development of their sporting knowledge a valuable experience.
|
It is an advantage to have done GCSE Physical Education/Games and achieved a C
grade or above in the theoretical component. A good grade at GCSE Science,
particularly Biology, would be beneficial, although this is not a compulsory
requirement. Students will be expected to demonstrate a high level of
motivation in all aspects of the course, which along with demanding practical
sessions worth 20%, also includes a very stimulating and demanding theoretical
component. |
 |
Physical Education at AS and A2 combines with a number of subject areas.
Throughout the course Science, English, Psychology, Sociology, History and
Mathematics will be integral to the study of Physical Education.
