Year 7

• What is PSHE – what to expect and what are the rules within the lesson. How to respect each others opinions etc
• Friendships family – How family members depend on each other. Identifying the main characteristics of a successful friendship. Supporting family and friends
• Coping with risk – this was held over three lessons – looking at how to avoid putting themselves into risky situations.
• Bullying – How to distinguish between teasing and bullying. What to do. Who to go to. How to help each other.
• Road safety – Watched a team of Actors – hard hitting event and personal safety in various areas.
• Work shop working with the Travellers support teams
• Prejudice
• Healthy Lifestlyes

Year 8

• What sort of person am I – What are their strengths and weaknesses? Looking towards career goals.
• The Family – looking a different sorts families
• Conflict – how to handle conflict and aggression by negotiation etc
• Extended session looking at contraception & STIs with the school nurse. Then working with a team of actors on how to cope friendships/relationships. We also looked at the worrying statistics of teenage pregnancies and behaviour in this country compared with others.
• Friendship & love – What makes a good friendship. Distinguish between difference types of love
• Shyness and confidence – How to help become more confident and assertive.
• Careers education looking at what things can cost and budgeting – The Real Game

Year 9

• Your own identity - stereo typing
• Decision making and how decisions can affect your life and others
• Starting to look at career choices and goals. Assessing their targets. Learning how to research their career interests and qualifications. This is obviously leading to their option choices so they have the tools to make the right decisions.

Year 10

• Looking at the world of work recap on what is ahead for the next 5 terms before the student sit their GCSEs.
• Looking at body image and the affect of the media.
• Eating disorders
• Contraception and STIs
• Talks by Bridgegate (Drug support group) and Peterborough HIV Support Services.
• Drugs and the Law delivered by a Community Police officer
• WORK EXPERIENCE

Year 11

• Mainly looking at what’s next and where next.
• How to research information and where.
• How to fill in the applications etc.
• Post 16 convention – a useful time to collect information.
• Talk by the RAF
• How to fill in an application form
• How to write a CV
• Looking at Banking – How to check a statement and the dangers of Credit cards etc
• Bridgegate - Drug Support Services
• Drinksense – Alcohol support agency
