SWITCH
What is SWITCH?
SWITCH is a facility designed to support students with social, emotional and
behavioural difficulties. It is encompassed within the Learning Support Centre
and is designed to be a flexible and supportive working environment.
What will students do in SWITCH?
Students carry out 1:1 activities as well as small group curriculum work. The
unit ensures that all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum
and are provided with activities most suited to their preferred learning style.
How is the SWITCH staffed?
SWITCH is staffed by a full time Learning Support Unit Co-ordinator (Miss
Wicking) and a Teaching Assistant.
What are the aims of SWITCH?
SWITCH aims to support students through intensive work. The intention is to
provide students with the skills to participate more effectively within the main
body of the school. Our aim is to reintegrate students into the classroom,
thereby promoting inclusion. It is hoped that the skills they have acquired will
enable them to succeed!
