Introduction

Textile Technology is taught at KS3 and as is option at KS4. At KS3 it is a short course consisting of 12 weeks. All students investigate research work, fashion drawing and get to design and make useful and practical items, based on the experience gained in the lessons.

GCSE Textiles is a two year course covering production of garments and investigative work based on industrial practices. 60% of the grade is based on a final portfolio of work and a completed garment or item made. 40% is on a written exam. Topics covered vary from, children's wear, soft furnishings, to dance wear and club outfits.
