The Year 11 tutor team has a variety of experience and skills across subjects; available for students in Year 11 to ask for advice and help with their studies and progress. The tutor team has been attached to their forms for varying amounts of time, but many have built up great relationships and bonds.

Form tutors have daily contact with your child – if you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact school by either telephone or if possible email. Please email the office with your child’s name and form group and it will be forwarded on to the relevant person.

Welfare Assistant:

Miss S Housley-Stott

Each year group has a welfare assistant attached to them. Our welfare assistant is also a cover supervisor so her time is split between covering lessons for absent staff and working with Miss Reeve. Miss Housley-Stott has many jobs to carry out including speaking to pupils about attendance, contacting parents, admin for the year group and has also fills in as a temporary form tutor for the form groups.

The council meet with Miss Reeve before and after a full council meeting to discuss any issues pupils have about school and then feedback is given to the individual form groups.

The Charities that the Year Council has decided to support for any fund raising events are:

Prom Rewards

Students are rewarded with money off their prom ticket. Attendance, hard work and effort are rewarded.

Reports

There are 5 reports over the two years, three in Year 10 and two in Year 11 which count towards money off vouchers.

1 Excellent Certificate (all subjects are on target) = £2 off
1 Good Certificate (all but one subject are on target) = £1 off

This gives students the opportunity to earn £10 off the cost of their prom ticket.

Attendance

Year 10 Attendance

100% = £5 off
99% - 98% = £4 off
97% - 96% = £2 off
95% - 94% = £1 off

Year 11 Attendance

100% = £5 off
99% - 98% = £4 off
97% - 96% = £2 off

Once again, this gives the students the opportunity to earn another £10 off the cost of their prom ticket.

Therefore some students may earn a free ticket (depending on the cost of the tickets each year).

Progress Files

A progress file is produced at the end of year 10 and continued into Year 11. Pupils keep a record of any certificates or qualifications they have gained over Key Stage 4 and anything relevant from Key Stage 3. Pupils take their progress files to interviews to show colleges and employers their strengths. The following link is the contents page and an idea what is required of the student to put into their progress file.
