The Year 9 tutor team has a variety of experience and skills available for students in year 9 to ask for advice and help with their studies. The majority of the tutor team has been attached to their forms since year 7 and they will continue to be their form tutors until they leave at the end of year 11.

Form tutors have a daily contact with your child – if you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact school by either telephone or if possible email. Please email the office with your child’s name and form group and it will be forwarded on to the relevant person.

Rewards

Students are rewarded by staff for a variety of things, including good effort and pleasing achievement in their work; helpfulness around the college; kindness to other students and making a good contribution to the school community. Individual Departments have their own reward systems and certificates or privileges but in addition the whole school subscribes to the ‘I Behave’ computerised system. This system allows staff to notify parents immediately, via email, when a student has been awarded a point. When students have earned Twenty-five points they are presented with a Bronze Award - a certificate and a badge. Fifty Points leads to a Silver Award, One hundred points equals a Gold award and Two hundred points equals a Platinum Award.

In addition within the Year we run an inter- form competition. The form with most I-Behaves each week receives a certificate in assembly. At the end of each term the winning form receives a special treat.

For Excellent Attendance, individuals are awarded certificates. Likewise, the inter-form competition means the winning form each week receives a certificate. There is also a Reward Trip for students with the highest attendance every year. We run 2 Reward trips, one for Attendance in January and one in July to reward students with good behaviour and effort in lessons.
