Our physical education teaching inspires children to develop and deepen competence in a broad range of physical activities.
It ensures that our children develop fundamental movement skills to extend their agility, balance and co-ordination. They work individually and with others as well as on co-operative physical activities in a range of increasingly challenging situations. Our children will develop an understanding of how to improve in different physical activities and sports and learn how to evaluate and recognise their own and their peers’ performances.
We see physical development as a key factor in improving every child’s emotional wellbeing by developing independence, respect, teamwork, resilience, persistence and creativity through sporting opportunities.
We encourage children to succeed and excel in competitive sport, both against themselves and against others, and to take part in other outdoor and adventurous activity challenges.
We are fortunate to be able to work with our older pupils in the Secondary and 6th Form phases who will be supporting our young pupils during some lessons, for sporting tournaments and competitions as well as inspiring them when our young pupils get to watch the many competitive elements of Cromwell secondary sport.
Physical Education at Cromwell provides opportunities for pupils to grow, thrive and lead healthy, active lives.
We will begin working towards the bronze standard for PE.
