Cromwell Community College's busy term ends with trips, celebrations and enrichment activities
Water warriors in Year 5!
Last week, two Year 5 pupils worked with Anglian Water to complete a water audit around the school. They carefully checked taps, toilets and other water sources to make sure water is being used efficiently and not wasted. As part of their commitment to helping the environment, these pupils are also spending part of their lunchtimes checking classrooms and turning off lights that have been left on. Their efforts are helping our school reduce waste, save energy and become more environmentally friendly.
A magical celebration of learning
Our Celebration of Work evening was truly magical. It was wonderful to see so many families come together to celebrate the children’s achievements. The KS2 children sang beautifully and made us all incredibly proud. The classrooms were buzzing with excitement as pupils eagerly shared their work with parents and carers, showcasing all of their hard work from across the year. We also held our third Produce Show event, which featured many creative and impressive entries. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the event such a success.

Another special moment of the evening was recognising our therapy dogs, Finn and Phoebe, along with their owner, Nick. We have nominated them for a Make a Difference Award, and we are delighted that Nick has been shortlisted as one of just four finalists in the animal category. The awards ceremony will take place in September. The support, care and dedication that Nick, Finn and Phoebe bring to our school community are invaluable, and we are so grateful for the positive difference they make to the wellbeing of our children every day. We wish them the very best of luck for the awards ceremony!
Secondary and Sixth Form trips

June and July have been very busy with trips, having visited Duxford and Warwick Castle for day trips. There have also been residentials for sixth form students with many going to Paris and Disneyland as well as undertaking their Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition to the Peak District. Year 9 pupils spent 3 days visiting the World War One battlefields of Belgium and France, many finding the names of relatives on the impressive memorial to the fallen of the Somme at Thiepval.
