What Our Students Think

Hear from some of our recent students about their experiences at Cromwell Sixth Form

Noori

I studied at Cromwell Community College for my GCSEs, and even after only being there for one year, I knew Cromwell Sixth Form was my number one choice, and I have not regretted this decision.

Currently, I am studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths for my A levels, my teachers for each subject are wonderful and ensure that we achieve the best possible outcomes.

The Sixth Form staff are supportive and friendly, helping with any issues you might face, whether academic or social, and I know I can always approach them if I am struggling in any way!

The Sixth Form also provides multiple enrichment opportunities which I am very grateful for, to help us in our further education and Post-18 studies.

One of the things I have loved most about Cromwell Sixth Form is the chance to explore new subjects and discover where my real interests lie.

The teachers encourage me to try my best, get involved, and pursue my goals and to discover what I am truly passionate about, making me more confident and determined.

Discussions with the Sixth Form team allowed me to adjust my choices from results day, all the way to the end of September, taking the pressure of worrying about whether you will enjoy a subject.

Cromwell Sixth Form also made me much more confident and informed about how and where I want to go in the future. Thanks to the support and opportunities at Cromwell, I feel more excited than ever to work hard and achieve my goals.

As a student transferring from a local secondary school to Cromwell Sixth Form, the transition was smooth and easy. From the moment I joined, Cromwell Sixth Form stood out to me as a welcoming environment, dedicated to not only students’ success, but also wellbeing.

For my A levels I have chosen to study Psychology, English Literature and Criminology, and have found the lessons to be calm, engaging and interesting, which is a direct result of the teacher’s knowledge and passion for their subjects.

Other than these areas of study, Cromwell offers a well-rounded curriculum, ensuring students receive holistic education and have a wide range of subjects to choose from.

Overall, Cromwell is an outstanding school, preparing students not only for education but for their future pathways.

I would highly recommend this school to parents who strive for their children’s success and confidence.

Since I was six years old, I’ve had a life path set up in my head. A levels are the first big step towards my long term career. I always knew what I would choose, I always knew what I wanted to do. Obviously, my choices became more specific, as schools typically don’t offer a ‘space exploration course’, however, I always knew what I needed for my next steps.

Moving from GCSE to A levels was the biggest jump ever, and I have quite frankly struggled with some aspects of self-studying and balancing my school, work and social life. Thanks to Mrs Paul and Mrs Fisher, as well as my great relationships with my teachers, I have managed to work out a balance. They are very helpful in not only academics, but the social complications of moving through the Sixth Form landscape.

For my A levels, I took Maths, Biology and Physics, with EPQ as an enrichment. I later dropped EPQ as it wasn’t well suited to my abilities and I then picked up Further Maths as an AS level. This whole process was very nerve-racking since I had no idea whether I had made a massive mistake, yet through the guidance of my incredible Maths teachers and the Sixth Form staff, they made it possible for me to make that switch. After Sixth Form, I intend to go to the University of Edinburgh to study Astrophysics and then complete research for a PhD. None of this would be possible without the outstanding efforts of the Sixth Form staff.

All of it starts here at Cromwell, and I strongly believe there isn’t a better school in the area.
